Ringing Outing - 23rd May 2009
Ringers from Terling and Little Baddow spent a very enjoyable day out on our annual ringing outing recently. 24 of us set off, including a few non ringers and 3 young ringers from Little Baddow, who were very welcome - we would love to see more young people coming along to learn this traditional English skill!!

We rang in 3 churches in the morning (St John the Baptist, Epping; St Andrew North Weald; St Mary the Virgin, Moreton) and 3 in the afternoon (St Germain, Bobbingworth;St Nicholas, Fyfield; St Mary The Virgin, Matching).  We stopped for a couple of hours for lunch at the Nags Head, Moreton, where we were made very welcome.

An enjoyable day was had by all, with plenty of opportunity for ringing for everyone. Only one mishap, a bell rope broke at Bobbingworth which curtailed our session there. However, it could have been worse, as we had followed the local ringers who had been ringing for a wedding. At least the rope didn't break during the wedding!!

Thanks to Helen Hughes, one of the Terling ringers for organising the day.
